Your data
Delete your account
You can ask us to delete your Mali Yangu account and personal information at any time.
How to ask
- Email contact@maliyanguapp.com with the subject "Delete my Mali Yangu account".
- Write from the email address linked to your account, or include the phone number you signed up with. We may send a code to that phone number to make sure the request really comes from you.
- We confirm by reply and delete your account within 30 days.
What we delete
- Your name, phone number, email address and Google connection.
- Your National ID number, ID photo and selfie.
- Your credit check result, employment and income details, and assessment answers and results.
- Your applications and messages in the app.
What we may keep
- Payment records (amount, date, method and reference), for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records.
- Information we need to prevent fraud, for example a record that an ID number has already been used, and information needed to deal with a complaint or legal claim.
We keep these only for those purposes, and we remove your name and contact details from them wherever we can.
Information a financier already has
If you applied to a financier, it received your details and holds its own copy. Deleting your Mali Yangu account does not delete that copy. Ask the financier directly. We can tell you which financiers received your details.
Only want to disconnect Google?
Write to us at the same address and we will disconnect your Google account from your Mali Yangu account. You can then sign in with your phone number and password. You can also remove Mali Yangu's access in your Google account settings.
